It was clear to Izzy from a young age that she wanted to do nothing else but work with dogs and change their lives. Immediately out of high school, she began her search for the perfect career that would allow her to do just that.
She began her work in the shelter. She loved taking care of them, advocating for them, and finding their furever homes. Just spending time with them, cleaning after them, and giving them love that was missing in their lives filled her life with purpose.
Izzy continued her work in the shelter as she went to International Business College to become a veterinary technician. After graduating and working in the veterinary field, Izzy decided the medical field wasn’t really what she wanted. She wanted to work with a dog’s mind more so than their bodies. Izzy decided she wanted to become a dog trainer and has been training dogs professionally for 3 years while still advocating for dogs in the shelter. Her goals are to continue to help owners and their dogs have the best lives they can with each other quoting “I want your dog to really be a family member that you take everywhere with you. I want to help owners gain confidence with their dogs out in public and have a best friend for their life.”
Izzy currently has 6 beautiful dogs of her own. A black German Shepherd named Sammie, who is the goofiest girl. There isn’t a day that she doesn’t make Izzy laugh. A Belgian Malinios Shepherd mix name Ryan that enjoys doing Personal Protection and Schutzhund work with Izzy. He’s a big softy but is very good at his job. A German Shepherd Pomeranian mix named Robin that enjoys GRC Wall Climbing, loves food, and has a favorite special toy “pig.” A Lab mix named Chase who is the sweetest old man that enjoys cuddling on the couch while Izzy sings the theme from Dukes of Hazard (Good Ol’ Boy) to him. A Dachshund Beagle mix named Bentley that enjoys snuggling, and trips to his Naynay and Papaws house. And last but not least, she has a little bullet named Bambi, a Chihuahua Pomeranian mix who loves agility and coming to work at Purpose Driven K9.
